On 9 April, at 19.30 American folk and bluegrass band “The Brothers Comatose” from Sanfrancisco, USA, will be performing at Ziemelblazma Culture Palace. The special guests from the Latvian jazz world will be Denis Pashkevich and Jolanta Gulbe˗Pashkevicha.
There are five participants in “The Brothers Comatose” band playing the guitar, banjo, mandolin, contrabass, violin as well as singing. Ben Morrison – the guitar, voice, Alex Morrison – the banjo, voice, Scott Paden – the contrabass, Philip Brezina – the violin, Ryan Avellone – the mandolin.
The core of the group is formed by brothers Ben and Alex Morrisons who have been playing together since their childhood. The band has launched three studio albums: “Songs From The Stoop”, “Respect The Van”, “City Painted Gold” which have been highly appreciated by both music reviewers as well as listeners.
In the concerts of the band, there is a mix of the traditional bluegrass, country and rock music and their style of performance more resembles a stadium rock concert that is saturated with energy. The band regularly performs in festivals and music clubs in the USA, Canada and Australia.
The tour of the band to Latvia is taking place in cooperation with the Embassy of the United States to Latvia and with the support from the US Department of State culture exchange programme “American Music Abroad”.
The concert will be free of charge.
