On 28th April, at 17.00 Deniss Pashkevich anniversary concert will take place at the Big Hall of Ziemelblazma Culture Palace alongside with the introductory concert of the International Jazz Day.
This is what Denish Pashkevich says about the forthcoming concert: “This will be a very special concert because I will have an opportunity to perform together with my colleagues and friends Neff Irizarry and Brian Melvin, I have played together with for more than 10 years. I will also perform together with trumpet player Anders Bercgrantz from Sweden – we have intended several future projects together. I will be particularly glad to be on stage together with Jolanta Gulbe ˗ Pashkevicha. The programme of the concert will be as a bridge among different cultures: American, Scandinavian and Baltic. In the concert we will perform both the pieces composed by me and by special guests of the concert.”
Denis Pashkevich is one of the leading Baltic jazz musicians, a saxophonist, flautist, composer, producer, teacher of modern improvisation and jazz music for more than 25 years not only on the Latvian jazz stage, but also has enriched it with world-famous, outstanding musicians and inspiring personalities. He is one of the musicians who has devoted a large part of his career namely to raising the popularity of jazz music in Latvia as well as to promotion of young musician’s experience. He regularly performs in different festivals, concert halls and clubs in Europe and globally. Denis Pashkevich is the artistic director of the agency “Rīga Room” founded in Latvia for promoting jazz music as well as the artistic director of the international jazz festival “Jazz Room”. Besides, he is the official musician for the French saxophone brand “Marca Reeds” as well as artistic director for the fast-growing joint Latvian and French brand “Riga Winds”, under which saxophone model dedicated to Mr Pashkevich named “Pashkevich signature”. The musician has participated in recording of more than 50 albums.
