Duo “He and She” invites listeners to its Aperitif concert on 6 April, 16.00 at the cafe of Ziemelblazma Culture Palace.
The idea behind the concert is to spend time in an informal musical atmosphere created by the French and Latvian melody saxophonist Ilze Lejiņa and French musician Fred Hormain. The musicians wish “May the Aperitif concert raise your appetite for beautiful music and carry away the minds tired from daily concerns!” The concert will offer voice performances as well as the saxophones, guitar, violin, kokle, bibini, pipe as well as electronics.
She – Latvian lady Ilze Lejiņa, the founder of the famous lady saxophone quartet “n[ex]t” and soprano saxophonist, a saxophonist of Riga Saxophone quartet who has won the Great Music Award. She has played saxophone solos at the Latvian National Opera House Orchestra and National Symphonic Orchestra of Latvia. Lejiņa has been the concert master of the professional brass orchestra “Riga”. She has participated in different international projects together with the French, Italian and Luxembourgian musicians as well as played the saxophone in the theatre play “Touch the White Bear”.
He – French musician Fred Hormain, multi-instrumentalist, composer and music arranger. Homain has performed as a warm-up artist for Candy Dulfer and Prince’s bass guitarist Larry Graham, played together with drummer Jamal Thomas. He has written songs for his own projects as well as for famous French singer Jessica Marquez. He has also recorded the saxophone solo in the new album by Laima Vaikule and also in the project of young Latvian singers.
